Damon Harris

Damon Harris (born Damon Lamont Harris on July 17, 1950) was an American singer and songwriter, best known as a member of the legendary Motown group The Temptations. He joined the group in 1971, replacing Eddie Kendricks, and was part of the lineup during a period of significant change for the band. Harris's tenor voice contributed to the group's signature sound, particularly in hits like "Papa Was a Rolling Stone" and "Take a Look Around." Harris's tenure with The Temptations lasted until 1975, during which he helped the group transition into the disco era. His impact on music is notable for his role in popularizing the smooth, vocal harmonies that define Motown and for contributing to the group’s later successes during the 1970s. After leaving The Temptations, Harris pursued a solo career and later formed his own group, The Temptations Review, maintaining the legacy of the original band. He continued to perform and inspire new generations until his passing from cancer on February 18, 2013. Harris is remembered not only for his vocal talents but also for his contributions to one of the most influential musical movements in American history.
